The best use for those brown bananas sitting on your counter. Moist, sweet, studded with chocolate chips, and gone before it cools down.

Ingredients

  • 3 very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash bananas in a large bowl. Stir in melted butter.
  3. Mix in sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla.
  4. Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir in.
  5. Gently fold in flour until just combined (don’t overmix). Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 55-60 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack. Slice and serve warm.

Pro tip: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful the bread. Completely black bananas are perfect for this.
