Ingredients
- 3 very ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- Mash bananas in a large bowl. Stir in melted butter.
- Mix in sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla.
- Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir in.
- Gently fold in flour until just combined (don’t overmix). Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 55-60 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack. Slice and serve warm.
Pro tip: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful the bread. Completely black bananas are perfect for this.
